Queen Apartments

The location was the only good thing. The stay was awful: the lights didn't work properly, the front door wouldn't lock right, and the bathroom door handle came off. The view was terrible, there was a jar of cigarette butts on the balcony and two full rubbish bags outside the front door. There was a strange smell, and the stairwell smelled of urine. One star feels too kind. Stay well away.

Our flight was delayed and, when we got there, the door was locked. Nobody answered the emergency number. Eventually we saw someone leaving, got into the corridor and had to sleep on the floor, which was terrible for two 70-year-olds. The next day reception said we had to wait until 3 p.m. to check in. After some discussion, we got into a very small room with an awful smell. We only needed it to sleep, but I definitely wouldn't recommend the place.

The apartments were spacious, airy, clean and well equipped, just a short walk from the main square. We'll make a point of coming back, and I'd highly recommend them to other travellers.

We couldn't figure out breakfast because there was no one around to ask. The reception was closed when we went looking in the morning and again when we returned that evening, and the same thing happened the next day. It took until day three to find a staff member, who only managed to tell us it was at "the bicycle." Later, someone at reception explained that breakfast was at a cafe across the road, not at the apartments. When we finally went there the next morning, they asked for breakfast coupons we were supposed to have received at check-in four days earlier. I went to reception to complain and ask for a solution after losing breakfast during the trip, and was simply told, "complain online." There were other problems too. The kitchenette oven didn't work, and although we were told someone would come to look at it, nobody did. No cleaner came to the room during the trip. The apartment could sleep six, with three double beds, but there were only two plates and bowls, so we had to take turns eating. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready even though we were checking in hours after the official check-in time. They put us in a like-for-like room, so that part wasn't a problem, apart from it being up more stairs.
