Venetian House Market Square Aparthotel

We really enjoyed our stay at the Venetian aparthotel. The room facing the square had everything we needed, and the location was perfect. It was before peak season, but there was still evening noise. It stopped sometime between 23:00-00:00 and didn’t keep us from sleeping, though it could bother anyone sensitive to noise. We were told the square has nightly events during peak summer, so some noise is to be expected then. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning wasn’t strong enough for us.

The square is traffic free, so cars can’t drop you right at the door, but that wasn’t an issue for us. The staff we met were all lovely. The place was very clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We’d absolutely recommend it and would stay again.

Cornelia went out of her way to arrange our airport transport, and all the staff were helpful and professional. We’d definitely recommend this fantastic hotel, right on the main square. Our room was spotless, comfortable and had excellent amenities.

I booked through Booking.com for 16-18 April, paid in full and received confirmation. Within 24 hours, the hotel cancelled the reservation. The Front Desk Manager said in writing that a “technical error on Booking.com” had shown incorrect rates and availability. Right after the cancellation, I checked the hotel’s own website. Rooms were still listed for those exact dates, 16-18 April, at 1,177-1,282 PLN per stay. I have a timestamped screenshot from the site. In my view, this was a bait and switch: they took a booking at a rate they didn’t want to honor, cancelled it on a false pretext, then kept selling the same rooms directly for more. The unavailability they cited simply wasn’t there. The hotel’s reply didn’t acknowledge wrongdoing or offer alternative accommodation or a proactive refund. It was just a template email pointing me to Booking.com customer service. Booking.com has since refunded my original payment, but I still find the property’s conduct unacceptable. Other travelers deserve to know about a confirmed, paid booking being cancelled under what I consider a false pretext while the same rooms remained on sale at higher prices. I wouldn’t book this property. If they did this to one guest, they may do it to others. Book somewhere that honors its commitments.
