Wawel Apartments - Jewish District

We were a team of eight, and this apartment was a real letdown. My rating for Wawel Apartments - Jewish District is 1/5 for pure deception. The photos on Booking.com don't match the actual place, which badly needs renovation. It was much smaller than shown, with cracked walls, dirt, leaking showers, water pressure problems, uncomfortable compacted mattresses, and noise coming from all sides. It also wasn't equipped for a group of eight. The towels were small and insufficient, and there was no dishcloth or toilet paper. The address was different from the one listed in the booking, too. Instead of the renovated, beautiful tenement house in the photos, the entrance was through the courtyard and stairwell of a run-down tenement building. I would have been afraid to be there alone after dark.

The apartment had a broken bed that stayed broken until we left, and there were only two drinking glasses for six people, both different. There was also a strange pipe in the toilet when we arrived. We reported it, and a repairman came the next day and fixed it. The good parts were breakfast at the Hilo restaurant, which was truly delicious, the excellent service, and the excellent location in Kazimierz.

It's a clean, lovely, comfortable apartment at an affordable price, close to the old town, and I recommend it. Parking is the only small drawback, since it takes a bit of a walk. It was pouring when we arrived, and with children and luggage we couldn't walk through the downpour. We had to park in front of the office to unload, then take the car to the parking area. Luckily, there was a free space nearby.

The apartment at 12 Bożego Ciało Street was spacious and well located, but it was dark inside. From the window there was a view of a garbage dump, and there were no blinds. The curtains didn't do enough. The bed was uncomfortable, with a very soft mattress that felt like a waterbed.
