Arizona City

I went there for a skiing holiday, so at least I wasn't spending much time inside. The beds were comfortable, but there was hair all over them. The kitchen was unusable, with sticky grime, cobwebs, and spiders, and the shower had mold. The appliances were broken or smashed, as the photos show. I knew there were horses and expected some smell, which I'm used to, but it was still far worse than I expected. Maybe if the place were cleaned up, it wouldn't stink so much. I wouldn't give it even one star if I could.

It's more like a place to drive in and sleep. There isn't much space in the room even to unpack. The rooms need a thorough, regular clean, including the laminate floors and bathroom. There are spiders and cobwebs on the walls, and the price doesn't match the comfort. The elderly couple running it are very nice, but don't seem to fully understand how to manage the place. It was adequate for a few nights, 4/10. Bringing a dog is allowed, which is nice, and the horses are a fun attraction for the whole family.

There was no scale for rating the state of the place we arrived at. Horse manure stink was everywhere, and the rooms and bathroom were dirty, clearly not cleaned in a long time. The bedding also looked like it hadn't been changed for ages. The room paint had been refreshed a few years ago, but nobody had even bothered to peel the masking tape off the radiators. At night, the horses made it hard to sleep, and the view from the window was a trailer full of horse manure. We were only there briefly because we came to ski. If we'd had to spend longer in the room, we definitely would have looked for another one.

The owners are friendly, and the rooms are nice, though not completely clean. The grounds are spacious but could use more attention. Since the rooms are above the stables, there can be a lot of noise at night, and the smells won't suit everyone. Unless you're here for horseback riding, I’d look for somewhere else.
