Holiday Inn Lodz

The biggest problem for me is the drop-off setup. When it rains, which it does a lot in Lodz, there’s no awning or other cover between the taxi and the hotel, so you and your bags get soaked. In the city’s mostly cold, damp weather, clothes then take forever to dry. For that reason alone, I wouldn’t stay again. The rooms are average in size, and the bathroom doesn’t provide conditioner or face towels, called washcloths in US English. The location also isn’t convenient from a visitor’s perspective. The hotel is in a grey, unattractive neighborhood, far from the main Piotrkowska pedestrian zone and even farther from Manufaktura, Lodz’s shopping, dining, and entertainment hub.

The breakfast had plenty of delicious choices, and the stay felt like very good value. What really made it enjoyable was the reception team, who were warm and helpful throughout. I can’t recall her name, but one receptionist patiently walked me through booking our train tickets from Łódź to Kraków and checked online which platform to use because of construction. When I asked about a nearby waterpark, the staff even offered us four clean towels to take along. I’d happily recommend the hotel.

Breakfast was good, and the rooms were okay. Service was good too, and it was convenient being just around the corner from our office. Good value for money.

The tram stop is right outside, and there’s plenty of parking for cars of any size. The rooms were clean and what I expect from a Holiday Inn, and breakfast had a big selection, especially for kids. The reception staff were friendly all the way from check-in to check-out. If I’m back in Łodz, I’ll definitely stay here again. I’d give the service six stars if I could.
