Royal Hotel Botanic

The rooms are nice, and the breakfast is really great. The hotel is right beside the highway, though. One small gripe: the wifi wouldn't work with my mac. That usually means there's malware in the system, which they may have put there on purpose to "profile" you.

It's a nice hotel on Lublin's outskirts, beside the Botanic garden, and a car ride to the city center takes 8 minutes. Rooms are fairly large and comfortable. The stay price includes possible use of the spa services, with a swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Breakfast is alright by hotel standards, and the bar stays open almost all day if you fancy a beer. Parking beside the hotel is free and monitored, but it's not enclosed overnight, and there is no underground parking.

The only bright spot was the friendly, pleasant receptionist, which is why I give two stars. Getting there is difficult. The road is in such poor condition that even a taxi driver doesn't want to go there. For a place that calls itself a SPA, there were no bathrobes or toiletries in the room. At 8th p.m. there was no food available, as a large integration party was underway and the restaurant had already closed. The lobby party was so noisy I couldn't sleep. Breakfast was very poor, mostly a large selection of old food from the day before the party. The sausages smelled like the cheapest, worst recycled meat product, and even the tea was bad. There was also a big hole in the room ceiling, with what looked like electrical and network cables exposed. It seemed dangerous.

Simply awful. The toilet, bathroom and wall were dirty. For that price, you can find much better. This was the worst hotel I've stayed in. Even a young hostel would be better.
