We ate at the restaurant and really liked its spot right in town, opposite the castle. The food was good and the service was nice. Five stars.

The room came with coffee making facilities, a mini fridge, and a hairdryer, though the TV had no English channels, so we were glad we brought an iPad. It’s right across from the castle, but there’s some traffic noise. It wasn’t too bad, though the nearby church bells ring at 7am daily. The place is a clean, well-kept little gem, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was a small buffet, fine as it was, though a few more hot options would have helped. The restaurant menu was standard and the meal portions were good.

We brought our dog and ate at a table on the porch, which we enjoyed. The view across the river to the castle is magnificent and alone made the stay worthwhile. Service was good, with no complaints. The food was decent, though overall a little bland for our taste. The linguine was very tasty, and the pork with figs and red wine sauce was super yummy. I think the perch may have been frozen before, and it came out dry with only a little smear of sauce. The fries were served without condiments. We may be especially keen on sauces and gravy, but I prefer food a bit less dry.

The castle is clearly visible from the room, and breakfast was good. I’d rate the place 4.5. The only issue was an odd smell in the room, which also seemed to come from the kitchen. Once we opened the windows and switched on the air conditioner, it cleared up soon. A great place to stay.
