Good value for the money, with a good breakfast buffet. The staff were lovely, and the location is marvellous, right by the town centre and within walking distance of castle Malbork.

The hotel is conveniently placed near the castle and rail station, and it was very clean. My room had plenty in it: bottled water, a shoe-cleaning kit, sewing kit, refrigerator, TV, bible, and more. The staff were very nice. And did I mention fresh coffee all day?

The food was super fresh. First time in a while I’ve had onion rings that weren’t frozen. The Polish dishes were simple and delicious. Definitely recommend.

The restaurant was fine, with nice food and complimentary breakfasts that were hot or cold. The bar was OK too, the barman was friendly, and beer was about 9 zloty. There’s no separate lounge away from the restaurant, though the underground parking is handy. I recommend The Grot, which I picked just for the name! (UK joke :-) It’s a very new hotel in the quiet town of Malbork. My room had an odd shape and felt dingy, but it was warm and comfortable.

Service was OK, but the room was dirty and the bathroom tiny. Early in the morning we could hear drunk people swearing outside. The restaurant chef was missing, and the chocolate and creme brulee weren’t what they should have been, they were both starch-based puddings. Once you’ve seen the castle, there’s nothing to do in malbork, so don’t bother staying overnight.
