Bar Bis

We paid 30 złoty for cod with fries, a pretty good price in Mielno for the portion shown in the photo. It was tasty and reasonably priced. The glasses hadn’t been washed, but that’s something they could fix quickly :)

The soup was good, but the meat was disgusting and falling apart into crumbs. I was afraid to eat it because it didn’t look freshly made. The fries were bland and undercooked. It takes a while for the food to arrive, even though there’s no queue. The restaurant is away from the main route, yet its prices are higher than in the city center. We paid 20 złoty less there for the same meal, and it tasted much better. A total waste of money. I think I understand why there are no lines.

There’s a new owner, and things have changed a lot. The żurek (sour rye soup) with a roll costs 12 PLN and is delicious, and the Hungarian pancake is great too. Tasty and cheap. I recommend it.

My girlfriend and I are pierogi ruskie fans, and we try them wherever we travel in Poland. This time we went to Bis bar in Mielno. The portion was a decent size for the price and tasted good, though the dumplings were a bit too greasy. If you like pierogi, it’s a tempting deal at this price :)
