Pensjonat Cyklada

Cyklada was a wonderful place for a relaxing weekend. The room was beautiful, the location suited us, and the owners and the woman working there were kind and friendly. Breakfast was delicious each day, with enough variety and food for everyone. My husband, son, and I never left hungry, and nothing went to waste. I'd read complaints about whether three sausages or three pats of butter were enough for three people, and honestly, what more do people expect? There was also a lovely cold-cut plate, cottage cheese, salads, excellent toast, and great desserts. Three sausages for three people makes sense, and there was toast or fresh cold cuts for a sandwich too. The bread amount was fine, maybe even a bit much. I could give this place seven stars, and hope to return after clearing my head and recharging. Some reviews seem terribly unfair. If you want to be in the centre of Mikołajki, book there. If you'd rather have peace and quiet and don't mind walking to the promenade, Cyklada is a great fit. The parking area is small, but five cars fit without trouble. The owners deserve five stars for being careful with food: everything was prepared well, and nothing was thrown away. Some people, like a “Ferdek,” will always find fault, even if they had gold. As the saying goes, a bad ballerina blames the hem of her skirt.

The breakfast was nicely presented, and the staff made a real effort, which we appreciated. But the food selection and amount were lacking: just one tomato for five people, a few cucumber slices, no lettuce, only white bread, and margarine instead of butter. The room was small as described, but hygiene and organization were disappointing. There was a half-used toilet roll and no spare for five people, which felt unsanitary, so we bought our own. The red towels were stiff and scratchy. We were also surprised to be charged 40 PLN per night for a cot, since our two-year-old's stay was already included in the booking, and at many similar places a cot is free on request. The stay at Villa Cyklady left us with mixed feelings from the start. We arrived from Gdańsk with a small child around 1:50 PM, just before the 2:00 PM check-in. Over the intercom, instead of a friendly greeting, we were told we'd come early and they weren't sure the room was ready. After that welcome, my husband parked on the property but was asked to move because the space was supposedly assigned to a guest who had arrived the previous day. The spots were all the same distance from the property, and unclear parking rules just caused confusion. There was no sign showing where the entrance or reception was, or whether we should use the guest entrance or the owners' private area. We waited a long time in the lobby without anyone coming to greet us. We knew the room would be small, as described, but the other issues weren't what we expected. The place has potential, though guest service, hygiene, and the quality of what's offered need improvement. At this point the price doesn't feel right for the quality. Stayed April 17-19, 2026.

I booked six nights through Booking. The owner called the next day and said it would be a little cheaper if I canceled in the app, but when I arrived I was charged the same amount as the Booking price. The woman denied that the call had happened. At checkout, staff told me I could have stayed in the room two extra hours if I hadn't canceled through the app. I had a late bus, so that time would have helped; after the earlier confusion, I didn't feel like asking for a later checkout. For those reasons, I can't recommend it.

Beata was incredibly kind, friendly, and professional, and communication with her was seamless. Everything went smoothly. The apartment was clean, spacious, and well equipped, in a great spot close to the city centre but still quiet. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.
