Lamberton Hotel

Those beds are tiny for two adults, so keep that in mind. We barely slept, and the room was very hot with no way to adjust the temperature, yet a strong draft came through the window. The bathroom lights were harsh and couldn’t be adjusted, and there was no fridge or minibar. The rooms and bathroom also looked dated. There were good points too: a lovely, large property in a convenient spot, with very friendly service and plenty of free parking. The room had water, coffee, and tea, and the mattresses were comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best and most generous spreads we’ve seen, and the restaurant itself was beautiful. At dinner, though, the spicy chicken strips looked and tasted like cheap fast food, and the soup was far too salty. A friendly tip for the chef: check out the strips, soups, and other dishes at Basniova, Vodnik, and TaBeata. The chicken with batat was tasty.

We got good value for the money, and the hotel had a pleasant feel. Our room was comfortable, with two large beds, and breakfast offered plenty of choices. There’s a spacious car park, the area is nice, and you can check in at any hour. A couple of things felt odd: some staff came across as rather cold, and at check-in we had to sign an agreement to observe quiet hours from 22:00-06:00 or pay a fine. Also, the room phone for calling reception didn’t work.

The birthday cake from the outside shop got mixed up in the communication, though it was sorted out in the end and could be handled more smoothly next time. The staff were very helpful in arranging a small party and a one-night stay across several bedrooms. The festive food was tasty and served generously, breakfast was very good, and even the house wine was surprisingly drinkable. A very nice 5* stay.

The thin curtains let in light, and the photos gave a different impression of this hotel, which is far from the action in an industrial area. It felt more like a 1* place, with equipment that seemed to come from a DIY Store. Note: standard rooms have no AC, despite costing the same as rooms with it. There are only a couple of deluxe rooms with AC. In 2024, breakfast cost an extra 45 PLN, which seemed steep and wasn’t worth it to me.
