The room was dirty and uncomfortable, with stains on the curtains, floor, walls and just about everywhere. The furniture looked like it might have come from 1950s German dumps. Even the toilet lid was broken. At least the hot water had very good pressure. The towels were old and grayish, no longer white. I could barely stay there and didn't want to eat anything on site, but as a direct customer I didn't want a conflict. Check the pictures. The price was the worst part. Booking.com showed 121PLN without breakfast, or 156PLN with breakfast at +35PLN. I called the hotel and the owner or manager quoted 118PLN, which seemed fine to me, since I thought they could avoid Booking.com's 15% booking commission. Then reception told me 180PLN when I arrived. I questioned it and showed them the app price. They acted as if they didn't know what Booking.com showed and said the site had the wrong price. I've had my own hotels and know how the booking extranet works, so I felt they were trying to fool me. They later agreed to 158PLN with breakfast. That breakfast for 35PLN was the worst experience. At Mercure, a 50PLN breakfast comes with plenty of food. The price with breakfast was 260PLN. I trusted Arkadia because its Booking.com ranking/rating was high, but honestly I don't think it's worth it.

The breakfast was OK and the price was really affordable. The design was kitschy, but had its own character. Still, after one night I came away with mixed feelings. There was no air circulation at all, which made the hot night exhausting. With paper-thin walls and a few hours of sexual excess in the room above, I ended up having a sleepless, quite frankly traumatic night.

It's a great hotel for kids, with games, room to spread out and breakfast. I don't really see how it's close to Opole, though. It feels a bit in the middle of nowhere.
