The hotel was okay, and the parking was spacious and free. Staff were helpful and tried to meet our requests. Still, I wouldn’t call it a five-star experience, even if it meets the listed criteria. Lake Hill nearby costs almost twice as much per night, though the experience there is better by comparison. The spa has a decent amount of space, but much of it is taken up by massage rooms, leaving one small pool that was crowded with kids during our stay. There was no chance to relax there. The sauna area is small too, with room for only five or six people in each steam or dry sauna. There’s just one shower, and it isn’t covered at all. During our visit, the zone door jammed and a man had to force it open with a crowbar. It was quite a sight, but stressful too. There’s no water in the sauna, and while you can make tea in the relaxation room, who wants a hot drink after a sauna? The massages varied with the person doing them. We booked the same one twice: the first was a disaster, far too light, and the lady seemed unsure of what she was doing despite trying. The second was nearly perfect and left us relaxed. In the gym there’s no rowing machine, and the barbell area is small, so it’s hard to set up more than one exercise at a time. There was nothing to drink there either.
