Hotel Moran SPA

The rooms were clean and breakfast was good, but the fridge in ours didn't work. The setting is lovely, right in the forest by a lake with its own beach. It is a family hotel, though, so there are lots of children. That's great if you have kids, less relaxing if you don't. The restaurant menu is limited, and since it's the only place to eat nearby, a stay longer than two days means repeating dishes. There's nowhere close for shopping or dining, and the access road is so rough that I wouldn't drive it at night. It's unpaved and full of big holes, a real warning for cars not suited to rough roads. The hotel feels more like a good three-star place than a true three-star standard. It also doesn't seem set up for foreign guests: all the signs are in Polish and most staff don't speak English.

A colleague recommended Moran Resort and Spa, and I can see why. It's a unique, lovely place off the beaten path. My room overlooked the lake, dinner was very good, and the restaurant staff were pleasant with a great attitude. I emailed to reserve rooms, and Joanna, Aleksandra and Monika took really good care of me and handled my reservations. I could also use the pool, sauna and jacuzzi. I posted a few photos. For what it costs, I'd look somewhere else. This isn't an upscale hotel, and the rooms and shared spaces are just meh. The drive in is a mess, like a farm track full of hills and holes that can damage your car. They really should invest in a smooth paved road.

The third bed was really uncomfortable, and even though the room was for three, we were only given two keys. Still, the food, staff, pool, sauna and jacuzzi all earned my respect. It's a nice spot for a weekend with friends or family. Just be aware that if there's a party at the hotel, people all around it will hear and feel it.
