The breakfast was really nice and generous, and the staff were very helpful. The rooms are spacious and nicely done, with a good-sized bathroom, and the sauna was hot and roomy. The service in both the hotel and restaurant was great. There’s plenty here for a restful holiday, though I wish the jacuzzi were warmer. The restaurant’s limited vegetarian choices surprised me. After a lovely soup and a well-prepared salad, the focaccia was a real letdown. It looked like frozen, store-bought pizza dough reheated until it was tough, then covered with spicy oil, a handful of cocktail tomatoes, and a few basil leaves. It felt like a heartburn waiting to happen. I hope that was a one-off for the chef, because it brought down Aspen’s value. I’d like to visit again and give the restaurant another chance.

The restaurant and relaxation area, with its sauna, massages, and whirlpool, were great. We spent a weekend here and were very satisfied, with pleasant, friendly service. The one drawback was the language situation: the whole crew spoke only Polish, while just one receptionist spoke English, and not very well. Nobody there spoke German. There’s nothing for children to do, so I wouldn’t say the hotel suits families. For a relaxing weekend as a couple, though, it was a great experience.

The only fairly big disappointment was the terrible internet. Even watching Netflix in the evening was difficult, and sometimes simply impossible. The hotel itself has an interesting modern design, nice rooms, a gym, a pool table, an outdoor unheated pool, and an outdoor heated jacuzzi. The staff were friendly and professional, the location was nice, and breakfast was decent.
