The one issue I had was with room cleaning. The cleaning staff did a flawless job, but they sometimes went into rooms while patients were away without their knowledge. The facility doesn’t take responsibility for items left in the room, so guests have to keep everything in their suitcases, while the staff have keys and can enter at will. It would make sense to tell staff when each room may be cleaned. Some spa patients might not want strangers seeing their underwear or a treatment card with their name on it, and so much for the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Otherwise, I had a very enjoyable stay at the Korab sanatorium. The rooms were spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and reliably hot water. The food was tasty and plentiful, and I had no complaints about the meals. Wielka Pieniawa is only a two-minute walk through a beautiful park for treatments. One small note about the cuisine: serving baked beans on little flat plates with a fork feels a bit over the top.

My husband and I got back from the Korab sanatorium in May 2024, and we have no complaints. The service was friendly, the food was good, and the whole facility was clean, including the rooms with private bathrooms. Most treatments are at Pieniawa, but it’s nearby, just a short walk through a beautiful park.

In June 2018, I stayed right in the city center. The staff were friendly and always willing to help. We had a large room with a big balcony, though there were no chairs or loungers out there. The food was delicious and the portions were manageable. Since treatments started at 7:30 AM and breakfast wasn’t until 8:15 AM, I bought a little extra food so I could have a sandwich before treatment and take my medication. The rooms were tidy, but not cleaned thoroughly between guest changes. With an National Health Fund referral, some treatments meant a roughly 150-meter walk to Wielka Pieniawa. Parking needed to be arranged in advance and cost 120 PLN, since there weren’t enough spaces for everyone. Another option was a sisterhood two properties away, charging 100 PLN for three weeks. It was a pleasant stay.

One elevator doesn’t work, and the other only works most of the time. The rooms at the spa are spacious and clean, and most have balconies. The food isn’t Hilton quality, but it’s quite good by spa standards. Hotel and treatment staff were friendly and helpful. Bring your own cutlery if you don’t want to share with other patients at the table. It’s not that every spoon and fork comes from a “different parish,” or that some are oddly bent, but there simply aren’t enough. For example, a four-person table always has just THREE teaspoons.
