Hostel W5

We won't be coming back, even though the price and location are good. Last year everything was fine, but this time we booked for three and were given two separate rooms. The cutlery set was for two, not three, and the supposedly equipped kitchen was practically empty. The cleaning lady even worried we wouldn't figure out the microwave. The bedding had bloodstains and there were no towels in the room. Ukrainians were shouting from the morning. The walls were paper-thin. The sink and shower drain were clogged, there was mold on the walls, and getting hot water seemed to require luck. The toilets were damaged, there was pipe ash on the floors, and the place smelled of smoke. Work clothes were hanging all over the hallway railings. It felt like they were aiming for a hostel for stinky workers.

A warm, cozy place where tired travelers can get some rest, and it works well for a family with two children. The rooms show a nice eye for decoration, the staff are welcoming and very friendly, and the comfort comes at a reasonable price.

At your own risk. I don't recommend this hostel. There was an incident at 3 AM when someone pushed the key out of my room lock from the outside. After we all jumped up screaming, I heard the staircase creak as someone fled. We haven't slept for two nights. People come back after 10 PM with knives and telescopes and ask to borrow 5 or 20 złoty, and it feels scary to go out then. The hostel has been taken over by Ukraina and Turasy, according to my experience. Best to go in during the day and stay inside.

The rooms are on the small side, but clean and decently equipped, and having a private shower and sink is a plus. It's good value, with easy access to the city center and shops and a gas station nearby.
