The room was spacious and clean, and reception was pleasant and professional. I had a good stay, though I wish I’d had more time to try the restaurant and other facilities. Maybe next time.

I was comfortable here: the room was roomy and very clean, the shower was hot, the internet was fast, and I couldn’t hear the people next door. The bed was comfortable, if a little soft, and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant very good. I did miss having a kettle, since the coffee machine didn’t work for what I wanted. The station was a 20 minute walk, which suited me.

We booked two rooms from Saturday to Monday, with the option to extend. After the first night, we asked at reception after breakfast to stay one more night. The receptionist asked whether we wanted the same rooms, quoted a price, and we agreed. The next day I got a call saying we had to check out. When I went downstairs, I was told we could only stay by moving to other rooms and paying more. The hotel had made a mistake, but the only choices they gave us were to pay extra or leave. They apologized, but offered no discount and didn’t try to make things right. We paid for the two nights and left. I’ve never had such bad service at a hotel this large.

The massage service was the standout for me. The room was pleasant and the masseuse excellent. There’s also plenty of parking, free of charge. During a longer stay, though, the little problems add up. I had to ask each day for music in the breakfast room, and a smile or greeting when I arrived would have been nicer than being asked only for my room number. My bathroom sink had no stopper, and condensation from the heated towel rack left a puddle. Wi-Fi wasn’t stable, so ask for a room with a strong signal if you need it. When I first went to use the gym, all the machines were switched off and couldn’t be fixed until the next day. The air conditioning struggled to get the room below 27 degrees, even though it was 21 degrees outside. The sauna area is beautiful, but remember to request your preferred temperature when booking, or you may get 100 degrees Celsius.
