Novotel Poznan Malta

The restaurant was a real letdown and spoiled our stay. Dinner took an hour, with no explanation, the staff were rude, and the meat was undercooked. We chose the hotel partly for its pool, but it was outside and cold at the end of August, and it only opens at certain hours, so check ahead. The other draw was the location, just 10-15 minutes' walk from the thermal baths, which are great for adults and children. The hotel itself is large and modern in the city center, with friendly staff and clean facilities. It is a bit expensive, and parking costs extra.

We had comfortable beds and excellent TV channels, and the staff were helpful. One staff member even set up an xbox game for us. There's a pool, a play area, and an x-box at reception, with green spaces and lots of child-friendly places within walking distance. The restaurant can be slow, so order before you're absolutely starving. The rooms are a bit rundown: our window wouldn't open all the way, the hairdryer barely worked, the shower hose leaked, and there were two spiders.

The breakfast was great, both the food and service, and the pool looked lovely, though bad weather meant we couldn't use it. Parking in front of the hotel entrance was reasonably priced for a day. The room was good and service was great, but the curtains didn't cover the whole window, so sunrise woke us up. The toilet and bathroom were old style but clean. Walking to the old town takes about 35 min and isn't a pleasant route along the busy road. By car it's ok, about 10 min.

The room was tidy and very clean, with good facilities inside and throughout the hotel. Every staff member was excellent at helping customers and the service was friendly. It was a very positive stay.
