Pokoje u Małgosi

I stayed here while cycling from Warsaw toward Germany, looking for cheap accommodation in Poznań. Coming into the city from the east by Lake Malta, I only came across expensive places, so I chose this one in the north of town. The people running it were very friendly and helpful. It’s on a small street in a neighborhood of detached houses, though there are apartment buildings nearby too. I could leave my bike in a locked garage, and grocery stores were close for picking up food. My room was lovely, like an elegant room in an ordinary home, with even family photos on the fireplace. The shared bathroom wasn’t an issue at this price. Everything was clean and modern, and the TV had plenty of channels. A very good stop for a cyclist passing through a big city. I’ve never run into this kind of situation before, even though I’ve stayed in all sorts of hotels and lodgings while working days. We worked nights, and the owners knew that, but when we came back in the early morning and went to sleep, there was loud cleaning, phone calls, and conversations right outside our door. After we got home from work at 8 a.m. on the last night, the owner showed up at 11 a.m. hurrying us out, since apparently the day ends at 11 in this establishment or annex. The owners seem focused on profit and treat renting rooms like running some random hotel 🗽🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. The rooms don’t have bathrooms, there’s a queue for the one upstairs, and guests aren’t given towels. They have their own rules and seem proud of them. To enter through the main door, you have to cross the vestibule, which is used as a smoking area. For a non-smoker, that’s just “AWESOME.” I don’t recommend it and definitely won’t return.

A really lovely place, and the owners are just as lovely. If I’m in the area again, I’ll happily come back. I warmly recommend it.
