ibis Styles Katowice Airport

The fresh renovation and fairly comfortable beds were the only good parts of our stay. The room’s air conditioning didn’t work, and it was impossible to sleep. There wasn’t even a bottle of drinking water, and the mini-bar was completely empty. No slippers or bathrobes were provided, which didn’t match the level of service. Nobody met us, showed us to our room, or helped with our luggage. Staff had promised the night before to help call a cab into the center of Katowice in the morning, but then refused, saying they only call cabs to the airport. Getting dropped in the parking lot behind the hotel was also awful, since there was no direct way in and we had to haul our suitcases all the way around. We couldn’t get a cab from the airport or bus stop either. Service was zero. Everything apart from the renovation and beds was a disaster, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The staff were welcoming, and the rooms are nice. It’s a new hotel beside KTW airport. You can only reach the entrance through the paid parking lot. I’d stay there again when flying from KTW.

I landed in Katowice very late, around 11PM, and requested the ibis shuttle. It showed up 35 minutes later, even though the hotel is only 2 miles away.

It’s fairly close to the airport, though not close enough to walk. When we arrived at 9.50PM, the only food option was chips from the vending machine. That’s manageable for adults, but with kids I’d have liked something better for dinner. The pillows were also so uncomfortable that they really need to do something about them. Fixing those two things would take the stay to a whole new level.
