Mazurski Raj Hotel Marina & Spa

We never felt stuck for things to do, even with the hotel tucked away in the forest. The pool has a heated outdoor area, and there are weekend evening parties, saunas, a shooting range, a spherical cinema, a kids club and bowling. Some activities cost extra, but everything is new and we thought the price felt worthwhile. It was nice to have all of that when we wanted a break from quietly relaxing. The regular saunas were really good. The extra clay session in the spa, though, was a complete disaster for us. The directions were so unclear: press button A on the remote when ready, and the lights should go on and then off after 10-15 minutes, or maybe the other way around. We weren't told what button B did, only to use A. A spa staff member walked us over, but other people were using it, so we waited. They apparently hadn't reserved it. Once inside, it was hot, so we pressed A as instructed and sat down. Then it kept getting colder, and the steam disappeared after a few minutes. The lights never went out. After about 25 minutes we showered and went to reception. They said they'd look into it because they didn't know what had happened, and we heard it sometimes breaks down. When we asked again the next day, reception said the staff member had definitely explained it correctly and that it worked perfectly. They removed the charge from our bill since we were unhappy, which was kind, but it also left us feeling as if they thought we were to blame. We had a similar feeling over the vouchers. We first asked about buying some on the evening we arrived, and the receptionist kindly said they weren't available then, suggested we ask later, or offered to send them once they were restocked. We chose to ask at checkout, but then were told we must have misunderstood or misheard. I guess my hearing failed me twice. The restaurant and those issues cost the hotel a star from me, but I do plan to return. I hope next time goes more smoothly, because this place has a lot of potential.
