We liked having coffee by the pond, with a bench and a meadow around it, and the grounds are beautifully kept. The guesthouse is full of antiques, so the owner may sell them as well as run the place. Inside, the rooms are furnished very stylishly, and breakfast feels homemade, like eating at home. Just keep in mind that the kitchen shuts early, so there’s nothing to eat in the evening. Getting there is the drawback: it’s isolated countryside, and the road is so narrow that two cars can’t get past each other.

The rooms felt fresh and pleasant, and the whole place was clean, with stylish furnishings. It’s a lovely setting for anyone after some peace and quiet, with greenery all around and the outbuildings fitting right into it. Guests can fish in the pond, and there are regional dishes and beer. Some of the stylish furniture is for sale too.

What stayed with me most was Baron, my dog and a faithful walking companion through meadows and forests full of wildlife. The people and animals were friendly, and the house and its interiors are beautiful. The food was good too. The nearby slipways on the Elbląg Canal are worth a look.
