Hotel Sarmata

The breakfasts are good, but this is the second morning in a row I've been woken at 6 by a noise. Today it was some beeping voltmeter or something in the corridor, and somehow I was the only one who bothered to turn it off. Also, where are the disposable slippers? Why do I have to walk there barefoot in my suit?

The breakfast buffet had plenty of fresh, tasty choices, and the location made it easy to explore Sandomierz. Hotel Sarmata has a lovely historic character, with spotless rooms and a welcoming feel. The reception team were especially kind and helpful, and made me feel at home. One woman, whose name I unfortunately can't remember, said she'd lived in London for 12 years. She was warm and professional, and I really enjoyed talking with her. It made my stay even better. I'd happily return and recommend Hotel Sarmata to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

The owners pay attention to the details, and the rooms and grounds have a style that brings royal times to mind. Breakfast was lovely and tasty. Fantastic place, I'd recommend it and will definitely return.

We came back in summer 2025 and stayed five nights with my parents. Room 106 was clean, the food was good, and the wine was great. We enjoyed relaxing outside next to the restaurant. I first stayed here solo in summer 2024 and found it great value, with a place I'd want to return to. The decor has an old-fashioned style that takes you back to 1870, and the building itself puts a smile on your face. My room was in the second building rather than the main one. It was big and very clean, with a good bathroom, a double bed and a single bed. Breakfast was excellent, with lots to choose from, healthy options, plenty of fruit, and big cups of coffee. The restaurant menu isn't huge, but what they serve tastes very good. They also have very good Polish white wine, ask for the Sandomierz. The staff were friendly and helpful, and speak English. It's just outside the city wall, only a few minutes' walk from Rynek.
