The location is excellent and breakfast is very good, but that doesn’t make up for the rest. The room looked like it had been furnished 20-25 years ago. When we arrived, it smelled awful; we only realised the floor had been washed with a dirty mop after the smell disappeared when we requested cleaning the next day. Be aware that cleaning isn’t included. At 300euros per night, you’d expect that to be standard. They say it’s a guesthouse now, no longer a SPA or Hotel, even though the website says SPA Hotel. At breakfast, the waiter watches every single bite, so it doesn’t feel cosy or comfortable. In the evening they turn on extremely strong halogen lights that illuminate the whole place. Who knows why, maybe to be visible from Sweden, but the apartment stays bright all night and we couldn’t sleep. If you mention it to the owners, they switch the lights off, but the same thing happens the next evening. There’s also ongoing maintenance work, with the owners constantly improving the place and making a lot of noise. Isn’t winter the time for that kind of work? You have to clean the room yourself too, yes, at 300euros per night. Parking is about 300m away and isn’t secure, just a gate and padlock. To get the car out, usually in bad weather, you have to walk there in the rain, unlock it, get the car, lock up while already wet, drive to the guesthouse, leave the car on the busy road, and load your family in. Even with the excellent location, I wouldn’t recommend it for the price. We looked into villas next door, which look much better and are 60% cheaper. Simply avoid.
