At Sopot’s prices, it’s bearable for one or two nights if you pay under 250 PLN. I wouldn’t pay more, there are better places to look for. The apartment itself is renovated, reasonably furnished, clean enough, and the air conditioning works well. A few bits of lint get on your socks, so it isn’t hotel-level clean, but it’s okay. The mattress is pretty good, and you can sleep well. It’s also a cheap base for exploring Sopot and the Tricity area. The building looks ugly and very run-down from outside, which is off-putting. There’s no parking lot lighting, a complaint that’s appeared in reviews many times without the host fixing it. Other people in the house are easy to hear. I lost 1-2 hours of sleep because of a neighbor’s noise and casual conversation, even though there was no music. The soundproofing is poor. There’s a damp smell, like a wet dog or an old tenement house. The large dehumidifier in the bathroom helps a little, but not much, and scented sticks in the hall help too. No shower gel is provided. In the courtyard-facing apartment, cars and trains can be heard. We kept the windows shut, so it wasn’t much, but anyone sensitive to noise probably won’t rest well with them open. The strangest issue is that the building, apartment and room all use the same code, and you can’t lock the apartment from inside. That feels dangerous and foolish. The landlord should rethink security and give the room a different code.
