Central Sopot

It’s a nice place, and the location is handy for the railway station and city sights. Just remember it’s a hostel: you can hear the usual noise and late-night conversations even from private rooms, and the tidiness is at hostel level.

The location alone was great, and the staff were so friendly and courteous. My private room felt like a three-star hotel, at maybe half or a third of the price. It was spacious and nicely decorated, with a TV, mini fridge, towels, free mineral water, tea and coffee, a kettle, and a private terrace. Everything was clean, including the modern bathroom. If I’m in sopot again, I’ll definitely want to stay here.

It was hard to get into our room when we arrived, and we heard similar stories from two other groups during our stay. There’s no 24-hour front desk, and we struggled to find the person with the keys. Once we did, he didn’t know where the other room keys were. We eventually got another room, but it was a much lower standard. The first room had no curtains, so people on the street could see straight in, and the street itself was loud with partying people, trains, and trucks cleaning it. The rooms were very dirty and the organization was poor. I won’t go back.

At 65 to 80 euros a night for a single room, it’s poor value. The place has no breakfast or service, and the room was never cleaned during my six-day stay. It’s a hostel with no facilities, not a hotel. Nights were extremely noisy, it was hot with no air conditioning, and I hardly slept.
