Sopot Marriott Resort & Spa

I visited this past Sunday, and the spa really impressed me. The pools, saunas, and jacuzzi are all top quality. Mr. Dominik also deserves a mention. He patiently explained the offer and answered all our many questions with a smile. Highly recommended.

The cold rooms were our main problem, even though the hotel itself has a comfortable, modern interior. It was below -15 degrees celsius outside in early February, and the central heating went off at night. One of us ended up with a sore throat, and I felt it a little in my nose. We asked reception for portable heaters. They first brought two, then a third because the room still wasn't warm enough. On the second night, the power failed under the load of all three heaters. We called for help, and the front desk employee on duty offered a move to a superior room. It had more space in the main room but a smaller bathroom than our standard room, so it didn't feel like much of an upgrade. The power failed there too. We were then offered another standard room with a direct sea view, but the power went out in that room as well. The front desk employee wouldn't help move our luggage, saying he was alone at the desk, so we had to carry it ourselves in the middle of the night. We hadn't expected that kind of treatment at a Marriott Hotel. I do want to praise Mr. Christopher, who handled our complaint about the whole experience very well. As I understand it, he's the Front Desk Manager. He assured us he'd prioritize a solution. That same evening, a technician came to our room and found that its power supply could only handle two portable heaters. Mr. Christopher also made sure the central heating would run 24 hours, at least in our room. We're very grateful for his help, which made the last days of our stay really enjoyable. Mr. Emil was also helpful and friendly. He came to our room to remove part of the Mini Bar's fridge so we could cool our food, and he helped with other requests too. Ms. Maria and Mr. Martin were diligent, friendly, and ready to help with what we needed. Ms. Maria had reserved our first room with a partial sea view, even though we'd booked a city view. That was a nice gesture.

The beach is right outside, and an evening walk there with the waves and sunset was lovely. The hotel is in picturesque Sopot and delivers on all fronts. For a Baltic Sea view, I'd definitely recommend getting a room that looks out over it, especially in summer. The spa is luxurious, and the rooftop pool is breathtaking. Staff service was impeccable, with everything handled to a first class standard. If you're visiting Sopot on holiday, this hotel is a must. You won't regret it.

Staff were professional and service minded from the email exchanges, where I asked plenty of questions, right through to help they gave long after checkout. Breakfast had a very good range of choices, and our room was large and fresh, with comfortable beds. There's also a lovely garden with a big seating area. The spa has plenty of options, and the rooftop infinity pool frames the sea and the view nicely. The only small criticism I can think of is that the roof in the spa area was a bit boring. Everything else was top notch.
