The location worked well for us, near the sea, Monciak train station, grocery stores, a bakery, and a nice pizzeria. We didn’t get around to trying the restaurant by the villa. Parking is available out front, though it isn’t reserved for guests. We stayed four nights, and the elderly lady who welcomed us kindly showed us to the room and asked us to check that it was clean. It was. The shower was spacious, a real plus. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, and the double bed had a single duvet, which was only just big enough for one person. The toilet paper was already half used, with no extra roll anywhere. The TV was small, though I wouldn’t call that a plus or a minus. Who watches TV in Sopot in summer? I may consider Villa Kalinowa again, and hope the owners take my comments on board and try to improve things.

It was quiet and peaceful, and we had a good stay overall. The rooms were very nice and clean. We hardly saw the owners during our four days there, and didn’t see any other guests even though all the rooms were occupied. The owners charge the full stay on arrival, and in September breakfast isn’t available at the nearby restaurant. Finding the hotel is difficult: there are no signs, the listed address points to a restaurant, and the entrance is cluttered. The gate lock is broken, as is the room door lock. The double bed has a single duvet, and there’s no way to turn down the radiator. Still, our experience was good, and we’d give it a quiet, peaceful 4 stars.

The room was tiny, and the refrigerator was out in the hallway. There were two squeaky beds with such uncomfortable mattresses that I stopped sleeping after the second night. The bedding didn’t look fresh. The room faced the restaurant, and the smells were awful in the mornings and evenings, so we had to keep the windows shut. The street was busy too, which made resting or sleeping difficult. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The hosts were really friendly, and there’s a cozy restaurant on site. For Sopot, the prices were reasonable, with something for everyone. We stayed three days and found the room and bathroom spotless. The bed was comfortable, with a high mattress, and the place was peaceful and quiet. The sea is a five-minute walk away, and the beach is a short walk from the promenade leading to Monciak. We can really recommend it to anyone who values peace and quiet. We’ll definitely be back!
