We had a lovely week here as a family in July 2020. The owners were friendly and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. Our family room looked out over the lake, with beautiful views and sunsets, and the grounds were lovely. There’s a jetty, kayaks and rowing boats to use, plus a small public beach a short walk away. The food was very good too, especially the fish. Very family friendly, and I’d happily recommend a stay.

A really nice spot to stop for lunch while you’re out cycling.

A lovely family-run hotel.

It was quiet and the beautiful setting suited us well. The accommodation was enough for what we needed, and breakfast was adequate. Just keep in mind how remote it is when planning meals.

6/10
A peaceful place if quiet is what you want, with a barbecue and bonfire area and kayaks and boats for rent. The room wasn’t very clean, there was a spider in the bathroom, and the beds weren’t comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing too. If you come down later, there isn’t much left to choose from.
