Restauracja Stary Młyn in Swidnica has a warm, inviting feel, with charming decor that suits a relaxed meal alone or with a group. What I noticed most was the personal care that comes through in the food and the atmosphere. I can't wait to go back. It's a wonderful place for traditional Polish cooking, and the menu even had appealing choices for me as a vegetarian. The pierogi were delicate and full of flavor, while the crisp placki went beautifully with refreshing surówka. I also really liked the Podpłomyk, a simple Polish flatbread that brings something special to the meal. The classic comfort dishes were made with great flavor and authenticity, and the restaurant exceeded my expectations.

The portions are LARGE for the price, and everything we ate was super tasty. The service was friendly and helpful, especially the manager lady 😁. There's lots of room in the dining areas, plus a cosy corner by the fireplace. And there's a shooting range on premise!!! 🤩

The terrace outside looks over a small lake, and there's plenty to choose from on the menu. Portions are big. The food was okay, though it often seemed precooked rather than fresh, which left the meat and fish a bit dry. I'd skip the chicken or salmon and go for something fattier.

The staff didn't seem interested in whether we liked the food, and they don't collect feedback. That was the strangest part of today's visit. On our last visit, all the meals were delicious. Today, it felt as if the chef or cooks had changed. You could order a salad from the menu and then find an ingredient in it that wasn't listed. The balance was off too, with too much sauce and too much seasoning.

The waiters are nice and smiley, and they make me feel good. The owner looks after the design, the dishes, and the clients. I like spending time here and eating the typical Polish cuisine. I do miss having starters and more vegetarian food. If you're coming for the weekend, it's better to book a table beforehand. 🥂🍗🥣
