Forest Park Resort & SPA

The staff were kind and helpful, and the rooms were fairly clean since everything is new. But the place is far too small for the number of people staying there. It looks grand and luxurious, yet the actual facilities only seem suited to a few guests, despite having five accommodation buildings. There's simply not enough room, and it feels like they care more about collecting money than visitors' comfort. In a few months, I think the rooms will be a disaster. I can't recommend it.

My three-night stay was excellent and better than expected. The hotel is well managed, and the staff are warm and welcoming. Where they may lack experience, they make up for it with a good attitude. I do have a few suggestions for management. The breakfast buffet layout is awkward and the choice is limited. Pastries are all placed at the entrance end of the table, which doesn't work well, and the pastry and fresh fruit selection needs more variety and effort. The plates also had stains that looked like they came from poor washing or water left in the dishwasher. I saw these marks on practically every plate. For guests in building D, getting wellness towels means going through the wellness reception in bathrobes among outside visitors, which is uncomfortable. There are no sauna sheets, so a towel isn't enough to keep bare feet or other sweaty body parts off the benches. Only one of the three sauna showers works properly. There are no slippers in the rooms either, so guests have to walk to the wellness center barefoot or in shoes, which takes away from the relaxation.

The surroundings are beautiful, and the skywalk is within walking distance. It's a nice new hotel, though a few small things need attention, like the aquapark reception when it's wet and muddy outside. The Game Room feels like a quick, somewhat amusing conversion of a regular room.

The scenery and location are the strongest points here. The region is beautiful, with daytime snow and lovely views, and the slopes are close enough to make the area worthwhile for skiers and snowboarders regardless of the hotel. We left Hotel Forest Park ahead of schedule, disappointed given the price. The hotel felt large and unwelcoming. Limited English wasn't a problem for us, and a reserved manner would have been fine, but we never felt cared for or truly welcomed. Although the facilities look new, the atmosphere somehow feels old. Many employees seemed to have been there for decades and to have lost interest, just going through the motions without engagement. Food was very average, canteen-like and uninspired for the price. The restaurant was noisy, and at busy times the buffet area was cramped. People repeatedly squeezed past our table, making us move our chairs while eating. Our room faced reception, where people smoked, laughed loudly, and talked late into the night, so getting proper sleep was nearly impossible. We left because we couldn't relax or recover. The location can't make up for the lack of hospitality, atmosphere, and comfort, and the price doesn't feel justified. If friendliness, quiet, and a welcoming feel matter to you, think carefully before booking.
