Interferie Aquapark Sport Hotel Malachit

I came back for my third visit, this time over Easter, and it was just as good as before. The food is excellent, with plenty of options, and the facilities are very good. After a long hike, I like unwinding in the sauna or jacuzzi, and I also spent plenty of time in the aqua park. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly.

I've stayed in better hostels. The furniture and amenities are outdated, and the staff don't speak English. There's no drinking water in the pool area either. For what we paid, it wasn't worth it, especially when there are better and cheaper places in the region. They need to update the place soon.

The food was perfect and the aqua park was great, but the hotel itself was a letdown. The rooms are very old and seem to have had nothing done to them. The hygiene was disgusting, honestly. It's a nice place, but tourism there is at a really low level.

The aqua park turned out much better than I expected after seeing the rooms. It's roomy, with a jacuzzi, a kids' pool, a regular pool (only 12.5 m), and nice saunas. Even over public holidays it wasn't crowded, so everyone could find a place. The other facilities are in good shape too: table tennis, two well-kept pool tables, and a few decent arcade machines, including pinball. The drawback is the schedule, it opens at 10 and closes at 20, leaving little pool time if you spend most of the day sightseeing or doing activities. Getting to your room can be a hassle. There's just one tiny elevator, and it only serves five of the seven floors. Rooms on floors 6 and 7 mean hauling luggage up narrow stairs, so I'd avoid those. The lift also has odd behavior on floors 1-4, stopping there only when going down. Since the food is on floor 1, getting an empty elevator can take a while. The food is very good for a three-star hotel, with a large selection of tasty dishes. There are at least five main courses, plenty of sides, fruit and desserts, and even with food allergies you should be able to find something. Breakfast has about ten hot dishes, cold options, several breads and rolls, plus cereals. Staff refill things as soon as they notice they're running low, so arriving late wasn't a problem. They also clear used plates promptly. Coffee and juice are free only at breakfast, though, and coffee with dinner has to be ordered separately, which felt odd. The rooms seem unchanged since the hotel was built. The double bed was comfortable, but storage was limited. Our studio was larger and had more storage, plus a desk that would work for someone needing to work, though it felt packed. We had both a standard double room and a studio. Given it's a three-star hotel, I wasn't expecting much, but I was surprised the studio had no kitchenette or even an electric kettle. We needed a kettle to prepare food for our newborn, but bringing your own electrical appliances is frowned upon. You can ask for hot water at any time, but I wouldn't want to rely on that when a baby needs feeding. The bathrooms were the worst part. They're tiny and badly laid out, though the shower itself wasn't the smallest I've seen, the water pressure was good, and the shower gel was unusually nice. Getting into the shower meant squeezing past the sliding door and sink. We couldn't bathe our newborn in the studio shower, and the double room only had a little more room, so it was still difficult. It's hard to give the hotel a simple rating. There are some real annoyances, but it also has features you'd expect at a four- or five-star place. For the price, it's generally a good hotel, with those quirks to keep in mind.
