Apartpark By Baltic Home

I stayed in one of the new buildings, and it was spotless and very well looked after. The apartment and bathroom were pristine, with a kitchen that had everything needed to cook. There's a good sized balcony looking onto a green garden. The complex sits just off the busy Promenade, with beach access behind it. Breakfast has plenty to choose from, including homemade spreads, pancakes, cakes and cookies. The cold cuts, cheese, smoked fish, and cereals were nice too, though the restaurant gets crowded. The two single beds pushed together kept sliding apart, and the basic pillows weren't comfortable. There aren't bike rentals on site, but Baltic Bikes is about a 10 minute walk away. A modern apartment with what you need for a few days by the sea.

It's close to everything while being away from the noisy party streets. The room had no air conditioning, which puzzled me, though the weather wasn't great during our stay, so that was lucky. I was also surprised that the small pool area cost extra given what the SPA offers. The wifi felt like it was from 1995: at 3mbit download speed, it was impossible to do anything useful, and most international TV channels ran through the internet, so watching them was basically impossible. I had hoped to watch some Olympics in the evening. Very few staff seemed glad to have guests. At breakfast we got a 'room number?' instead of a good morning. One day I ordered a steak medium rare, and the waitress said they couldn't do that, only medium or well done. That still makes me laugh.

A modern, very good building close to the beach, and the food was great.

The room was nice. We did have to wait 24 hours for a parking space, which was a downside.
