Swarozyc

We spent two weeks at the Swarożyc sanatorium and had a very positive experience. Meals at Bursztyn are just 50 meters away, and treatments at Rusałka are 250 meters away. The food is very tasty, the ladies are kind to us, and the treatments are handled by professional staff. It’s a charming town, the weather is great, and we recommend a visit.

The location is excellent, right on the promenade and only a few steps from the sea. With so many bars and restaurants around, there’s plenty of choice, though seaside prices are what they are. The beautiful weather meant we could stay outside until evening and only come back to our rooms to sleep. But those rooms were filthy. Three of us had to share one because single and double rooms weren’t available even for an extra charge. The carpet was torn, stained, and impossible to clean properly, a real problem for people with asthma. The lady with the vacuum cleaner tried her best, but it didn’t help. If anything fell, we were afraid to kneel down or touch the floor because it was so dirty. I’d read reviews about the filthy carpets from years ago and didn’t realize nobody had replaced them. I’m not making this up, just look at the photos. The doorknobs were coming loose, doors wouldn’t shut properly, light switches moved, curtains were dirty, mattresses sagged, and the electrical outlets had years’ worth of dust on them. How did the National Health Fund (NFZ) sign a contract with a facility like this? There wasn’t even a room, common area, or corner with a sofa or armchairs near reception where you could chat or make a call without disturbing your roommates. All we had were a few wire chairs and a rough bench in front of the nurses’ station. Most of the medical staff were helpful, though one nurse wouldn’t pass a performance review at an ordinary company. Customer service, especially for patients, should meet a higher standard than hers. And the bed linen went unchanged for three whole weeks.

In January 2025, I stayed at the Swarożyc spa with my wife. She’s demanding, but she came away satisfied, and we thought the location and service were excellent. Treatments at Rusałka are 200m away, and meals at Bursztyn are 50m away, but those trips didn’t change our opinion. If someone isn’t happy with this place, I suggest the nearby Radisson, Hilton, or Ewerdina for 19.50 PLN a night. There’s just one little catch: most pensions only cover enough for a week at most!

Świnoujście, swarozyc. Dirt and a stench. In a word, a disaster. People are sent to stay in conditions like this.
