Willa Paw

The breakfast felt lovingly prepared, and the rooms were charmingly furnished and very clean. It's a lovely little hotel. The construction site right across the street is a downside, though. The noise interrupts the rest, and it seems likely to go on for a few more months.

Bikes can be kept indoors here. The rooms are beautiful and very clean, with antique mahogany furniture that gives the boutique hotel a feel from the last century.

The breakfast is well worth trying, and the staff are super friendly. Everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. I'll definitely come back. The hotel sits almost at the end of the promenade, just before the forest and the German border, so there are no modern hotel blocks built in front of this villa like there are in so many other places. If you can, bring a mountain bike to the island. There are countless singletrack trails on the wooded dunes and farther inland.

The location can't make up for how poor the service was. Towels weren't changed, parking came with hidden fees, and the shower was broken. The third bed was a sagging pull-out couch, with a 5 cm drop in height. There was also a loose stair mat that could cause a serious accident. I'd spend a little more elsewhere.
