Hotel & Restauracja Maria Helena

Breakfast was the standout for me, with fresh, tasty local food and plenty of variety. The hotel is cozy and nicely decorated, and its facilities are good for an older building. It's right in the heart of Szczawno-Zdrój. The rooms are comfortable overall, though they could use updates: there's no air conditioning, and the shower is awkward.

We didn't stay at the hotel, so this is just about the restaurant. The service was sublime, with attentive, polite waiters and silver service as good as at any Michelin-starred place I've visited. The food was tasty and filling too, a winning combination. The decor feels stuck in the past, apart from a strange corner that looks like a French bistro. From outside, we might not have gone in, so it was quite a find. If you get the chance, I can't recommend it highly enough. It's perfect for children.

I wish my company would transfer me to Helena, it's excellent. I currently live at the hotel down the road, Camelot, and Marina Helena is miles better. It's the best hotel in town, with excellent staff, very fast service, and really nice food. They're happy to serve you late into the night.

It has all the advantages of a proper hotel, but still feels like staying in a home. The rooms are spacious and very clean, the food is delicious, the staff are exceptionally friendly, and the location is perfect. A wonderful experience.
