City Aparthotel

Stay away. As an experienced traveller, I can say this was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. A vacation for my husband and me turned into a disaster. After our first night, sometime after 10am, we discovered there was no water in the room. We told the owner straight away, but they showed no interest in fixing it and only said the water would come back at some point. Nobody offered us another room. Without water, we couldn’t shower or use the toilet, so we felt forced to leave after one night, although we’d booked two. Before checkout, we asked to cancel the second night and get a refund. The owner yelled at us and called us thieves for asking for our money back. The confrontation took a while, and we left just after 11. The owner then used the late checkout as an excuse to refuse a refund for the night we couldn’t stay.

We’ve stayed at this apartment hotel many times, and the staff are super friendly. The location is great for being near the city centre while avoiding street noise, with plenty of grocery shops just around the corners. There’s guarded parking around the clock. The beds are large and comfortable, bathrooms are big, and the kitchens are fully equipped. Even the single apartments have lots of room, and the larger ones are especially spacious, with some also having a terrace. There are small signs of wear and a few things that could be fixed or better looked after, but for the price, location, and standard, we’ve had great stays.

The location is good and the staff are helpful. The apartments vary: some have washing machines, cookers, and dishwashers, while others don’t, and some have bedrooms while others don’t. Ours was decent enough, though it lacked a washing machine and oven and was a bit run down, with peeling paint. Aside from that, it was not too bad.

I left a gold necklace in the bathroom during my stay. It was worth $1500 and had been a gift from my mother, and I'd worn it for 20 years. None of my attempts to get it back worked. I think the people here are thieves and the worst kind of human beings. Do not stay at this hotel.
