We booked five months ahead, choosing this place for the promised peace and quiet. Instead, construction right next door dominated the stay and left us with a very different experience from the listing's description of a place to relax. This was our ninth visit to Szczyrk, which we love, but by far our worst holiday. We paid 320 PLN a night and spent the week hearing construction equipment. Evenings were relatively quiet, but that was about it. This is our own experience, and perhaps the work is less disruptive on other days, but for the three of us the money was poorly spent. Almost every weekday we were woken from around 6-7 a.m. by angle grinders, drills, hammers, and other loud tools. The noise then went on from about 6:15 until 5-5:30 p.m., and work continued even on public holidays such as August 15th. We have recordings as a reminder. After the first day, we were ready to leave Szczyrk with our child despite the cost. Closing the windows and balcony might have helped somewhat, but temperatures were 32-34°C and there was no air conditioning, so that wasn't an option. We told the owner right away, sent a video, and spoke by phone. He was a pleasant gentleman, and I understand he couldn't control what was happening nearby. Still, I think guests should be told about this kind of disturbance before renting, even if it's only the day before arrival. We've had two previous stays elsewhere where warnings about extra activity nearby were given, which seemed fair and prevented an unpleasant surprise. We only found out when we arrived, after relying on reviews that almost all said it was peaceful and quiet. There were smaller issues too. The exterior bedroom blind was broken, and with the east-facing window, the morning sun was unbearable. The website also needs clearer photos. It lists five apartments but mixes pictures under three categories, terrace, balcony, and mountain view, making it hard to tell which unit is being rented. We booked an apartment with a balcony and assumed it was the one with the large balcony shown several times, but room number 2 has a small one. That detail mattered to us. I'm almost certain I mentioned wanting a larger balcony when I booked, though after all those months I can't rely on a casual phone conversation. There were some good points: the apartment itself was clean and had useful amenities, a dishwasher, and good Wi-Fi averaging about 85 Mbps. The location is convenient for a playground, promenade, and Polo market, and the owner was friendly. Without the noise, I'd rate the apartment 4/5. The disruption spoiled the stay, especially since peace and quiet were presented as its main advantages and we had booked well in advance rather than taking a first-come or last-minute option.

The apartments are attractive, well equipped, and conveniently close to everything. Unfortunately, I had trouble using the spa area. Even with a reservation, I couldn't get in because nobody came to switch it on or give me the key. Some guests also take advantage of the owners being away and party late into the night.

It's on a quiet street near the center, so it was a comfortable place to unwind. The apartment was clean, nicely furnished, and had what we needed for a stay of several days. You can book the sauna and jacuzzi privately for each apartment. The owner was friendly and easy to reach at any time. I highly recommend it!

We had a great stay, easily five-plus stars. The rooms were clean, modern, and spacious, with everything we needed. The balcony looked out at the mountains, and the kitchen was fully equipped. Towels and a dryer were in the bathroom. The spa with its sauna and jacuzzi was lovely. Highly recommend!
