Hotel Skalite

We stayed eight nights. The staff were kind, and breakfast was fantastic, with a wide enough selection. The hotel is away from the main road, so the surroundings are relatively quiet, and it’s close to ski resorts. There’s a large parking lot on the property for 20 PLN (about €5) per day. A separate building for skis and other gear, including boot dryers, is practical, but the ski room can’t quite handle the hotel’s full capacity. When it’s full of skiers, the dryers are taken, so you have to leave your boots on the floor and hope they’re dry by morning. Our room felt very small and outdated. For a similar price, we’ve usually had a higher standard, even for a 3-star hotel. The internet was practically unusable when lots of guests were connected. The rooms were clearly vacuumed, but not thoroughly, and could use a better vacuum cleaner. Our bed linen wasn’t changed at all during our stay. We didn’t get any rest, although the situation with the many families and children wasn’t the hotel’s fault. The children were loud and poorly behaved, running and shouting at breakfast and in the corridors. The walls between rooms seemed very thin, so we could hear every word from neighbouring rooms, especially in the hall. There was a play area on our floor, and every evening children screamed and stomped around almost until quiet hours. Moving the play area further from the guest rooms might help. It may be convenient for parents on the same floor, but it’s really annoying for other guests.
