The owners are warm and gracious, and breakfast is delicious. The guesthouse sits on a hill, but getting there is easy. If the weather’s bad, with snow or ice, you can leave your car in the lower parking lot and the owner will drive you up. Highly recommend staying here.

Breakfast might deserve its own post. The table is piled with fresh, high-quality food: cold cuts from a small smokehouse, dairy, egg dishes, homemade sandwich spreads, and preserves like pickles and jams. It may be the highlight of the guesthouse. The hosts are friendly and helpful, and the comfortable, spacious rooms are well appointed to a high standard for a guesthouse. There are shared areas too, including a large dining room with views of Skrzyczne and a ground-floor room with a fireplace. The guesthouse is on a mountainside near the Klimczok trail, and some rooms look out at Skrzyczne. The center of Szczyrk is a 15-minute walk away. The road climbs steeply, which can be tricky for inexperienced drivers, though you can ask the hosts for a lift. For experienced drivers, it’s a fun drive :) I definitely recommend it as a place to relax and reset in a pleasant atmosphere.

During breakfast you get a lovely mountain view, with a stream babbling outside the window, squirrels hopping around, and deer wandering by. Sam, the friendly dog, is there too. The hosts make breakfast from their own and locally sourced produce, and the rooms are clean. The toilets and showers are well maintained, with no mold or other nasties. The creaky floors and steep, narrow driveway might be drawbacks, or maybe part of the charm. It’s a pleasant, relaxing stay 😊

A lovely place for some peace and a homely atmosphere, set in a picturesque spot a short distance from the center. The hosts are wonderfully friendly and happy to share tips and help with Szczyrk. Breakfast is hearty and delicious. I recommend it to anyone looking to relax.
