Mercure Szczyrk Resort

The view was amazing, as long as you don't get a ground-floor room facing the parking lot. Breakfast was good, with lots to choose from, and Klaudia at reception was friendly and compensated me for the cleaning issue. I wanted to give two stars, but her kindness brought it to three. The hotel looks beautiful, so I understand the hype, but the price made the problems disappointing. When I checked in, I paid for parking, which felt ridiculous when you can't get here without a car. I knew about the fee beforehand, but the man at check-in didn't record my license plate, so I needed a ticket just to leave the car park. They came to clean around 17 or 18, when people are usually back in their rooms, which made me wonder if that was meant to discourage requests. Our room wasn't cleaned for three nights. After I called, they said it would be taken care of, but when I got back only the bin had been emptied. I called again the next morning, they apologized and promised to fix it, but the room was still unclean when I returned from the slopes. Mistakes happen, but not twice. I don't know if cleaning costs extra or if they were trying to annoy me. They charge for everything: parking, sauna, pool table, games, and even 5pln for the ski bus, which seems odd at this price. The room isn't soundproof, so bring earplugs if you need quiet to sleep. The fridge or empty minibar in our room didn't work.

The rooms were clean and smelled fresh, and the wellness facilities were luxurious. The views are stunning, and both breakfast and the cuisine at flame were delicious. I'd recommend booking through Slevomat if you want wellness access 24/7, rather than just two hours as with Booking.com. A beautiful place, highly recommended.

I've stayed at Mercure Szczyrk a couple of times, and each visit has been such a pleasant experience. The mountain view from the room and bars is stunning, and all the staff are friendly. The food is great, especially at the Flame restaurant. This time I came with my family. The kids loved the playrooms and entertainment, and we had a lot of fun with the map treasure hunt for the cute Freya toy. We're already planning our next holiday.

The building and facilities are really nice, and we liked the rooms and pools, but the service let us down. Reception couldn't seem to manage the number of guests: even after checking in, each time we needed something we waited at least 30 minutes in line. At the bar, our order was forgotten twice. We only got it after asking again, 30 minutes later, and when it was time to pay we had to find a waitress ourselves. We were disappointed.
