Fantastic.

There’s lots of wood around, just like the name suggests, and the place has a really nice atmosphere. From the terrace you get a lovely forest and mountain view. It’s quiet but still fairly close to the center. The Wi-Fi isn’t great, though I actually liked that. I recommend staying here.
The room was clean, warm, and spacious, just as described, and there was hot water around the clock. The property is in central Szklarska Poręba but a little away from the busy route, with cross-country trails very close by. The owner was very friendly. I think the second-floor kitchenette could use an upgrade. I’m sure I’ll come back :)
The snow hadn’t been cleared from the road to the parking area or the entrance. Inside, the rooms were fairly cozy, but at night they felt stuffy and dry. The house rules weren’t clear. It seemed fairly relaxed at first, then I found out I couldn’t enter the laundry room when I went to do my washing. That led to an argument with the hosts over a wash cycle, which has never happened to me before. I was at least allowed to shower. A “private room” sign only appeared the next morning. There hadn’t been any rules posted, and that lack of clarity caused the misunderstanding. I don’t recommend the place.
The hostess was lovely, and special thanks to Krystyna for helping me on my last day when I was hurrying to catch a train to Warsaw. The place is a pretty little hotel, arranged with guests’ comfort in mind. The traditional highlander style means wood throughout, sloping ceilings, and stylish but useful touches like a hanging wooden shelf above the bed. My double room could have fit another person, such as a ten-year-old child, or a family pet. Each room has a bathroom, TV, Wi-Fi, and electric kettle.
