Hostel Freedom

The room was good, and the location is perfect, right in the Old Town and in the middle of the Christmas market. What really disappointed us was the shower temperature, which kept changing. The water could go from very hot to icy cold, and that seriously affected our stay. Having a bath is very important to us for hygiene.

There are lots of attractions nearby, plus plenty of restaurants and a few supermarkets, and the location is quite nice. The accommodation is good for the price, with free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are along the corridor, but they’re clean and modest. I liked the place and would recommend it for a few days in Toruń.

It's fine as a place to crash. The shower and kitchen are okay, and the location is great, but it tends to be locals looking for a cheap stay rather than the usual backpacker hostel crowd. I’d want a full set of sheets, including a fitted sheet. The Soviet-style setup doesn’t work for me, so that’s minus one star. The Wi-Fi was basically useless, another star off. It’s not bad, but it’s not great either.

I’ve stayed here a few times and it’s been amazing every time. You can’t beat the location, and the staff are always very friendly, smiling, and helpful. The hostel is super clean and always smells nice, with tasteful furnishings and no unnecessary dust collectors. Wi-Fi is free, and there’s breakfast plus coffee and tea all day. At these prices, I couldn’t ask for more. It has the quality of a good hotel but feels more homey.
