The hotel was clean, including my room, but it feels very dated. The year 2000 came to mind, and the carpet everywhere makes it worse. I remember when a star rating used to mean something beyond what a hotel says about itself. Parking is the best feature, along with being an easy ten-minute walk from the city center. Breakfast was dull and barely continental. This just isn’t a four-star hotel to me, maybe two or three.

The location in Torun made this one of my favorite European stays, with museums, restaurants, shopping, and the city center all walkable. The place was clean and well stocked, breakfast was a steal, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. I’d definitely stay here again.

The staff were very kind, and breakfast was good. Getting there by car was easy, and the hotel is near the old town. Private parking right by the main entrance was handy and reasonably priced at 39 PLN a day. We’d booked a room with a sofa bed, but were given a freshly renovated modern room without one. We were only there for one night, so it didn’t matter.

The key card issue still wasn’t fixed when I returned from town that evening, despite being told it would be. In 2024 I had to go back to reception twice after checking in before I got a working card. In 2025 it took three trips to reception, and then the receptionist locked me in my room. At 11:30 PM I had to change rooms. They called the night guard, who had to finish smoking before he could help. I moved all my things up one floor while he stood watching. This isn’t right.

I’ve stayed here a few times, mainly because of the location. The lobby looks nice, but the place feels lifeless. The lifts are incredibly small, and the rooms are basic, with old carpets that need updating. Someone renovating the building would make a big difference.
