Viator

The location is great, with everything nearby. The rooms were okay, and nothing was a disaster, though the drains were partly clogged so we had to use the water carefully. The door lock was damaged but still worked. Parking was available, but there are only a few spaces, so you need some luck to get one. The outside of the building looks awful, probably the ugliest building in town.

Viator has two clear advantages: the location and the parking. The rooms have been renovated and finished with taste, but the old mismatched towels, heavy and worn bedding, torn bedspread, and assortment of plates and cutlery feel stuck in the 1980s. I’ll leave the facade and stairwell out of it. There’s potential here, though it would take a serious financial investment.

The location is very good, and the rooms and bathrooms have been renovated. Still, the stairwell and facade look dated, and the rooms are in the basement, where people walking past can look inside. The cheap textiles stand out: our sheets were all bunched up, the towels were old, and the bedding was poor quality. Even the only ironing board had a huge burn mark. It takes away from the place, especially after such an expensive renovation.

The outside might put you off, but inside the old building the rooms are clean, renovated, and have all the basics. The owner is very nice. I hope she keeps the lovely, stylish staircase and furnishings. Highly recommend it!
