Hotel SKAL

The two Nepalese waiters at breakfast do a wonderful job looking after everyone. They deserve a free day off, and I hope the managers, who are always reading reviews, reward them. Those two are the hotel's best. Most of the others come across as frosty. A smile wouldn't hurt, and the rest of the staff could learn from these two. Maybe it would even help the bosses make more money.

The staff were really friendly, though they didn't speak much English, so download Google Translate. I'm usually not keen on hotel food and am used to what they serve at a Holiday Inn in the United States, but breakfast and dinner here were very good. The hotel was clean, and we had a great experience.

We paid like we were staying at a luxury four-star hotel in Turkey, but this place doesn't deserve four stars, two and a half at most. It was overpriced, and the jacuzzi smelled bad. The sauna stank too. Our room was still dirty after cleaning, and communication among staff was poor. The cleaning company, probably outsourced, did a lousy job. Food choices were extremely limited, and the playground looked 20 years old. There was no bin in the room. I asked three times and still didn't get one. We'll definitely never come back. Don't waste your money. The hotels near Skal, Janosik Max and Lambert, are worth checking out.

We had a lovely weekend at Skal hotel. The atmosphere was very nice, the staff friendly, and the location cozy, really close to the soundy beech. I was glad the hotel welcomes animals, so I could bring my dog along. They make great cocktails too, and I'd happily have the delicious strawberry margerita again!
