The location is one bright spot. It’s tucked away, with a small park in front of the hotel. The sheets were clean, but the room itself needs renovating or at least freshening up. There was a mark on our carpet that looked as if someone had wiped their backside on it for lack of toilet paper. Our room wasn’t cleaned once in five days, and we had to go to reception to get toilet paper. The service was pretty poor too, as if they’d just grabbed whoever was available. It has that old communist-era feel and doesn’t deserve three stars. I’ve stayed in hotels at a similar price with a much better standard.

The place felt more like the boarding houses I remember from childhood than a hotel. The decor is late communist era or early 90s, and the bar has little to choose from, just beer, a few packets of chips and some drinks. Still, it wasn’t a disaster. For the price, I’ve stayed in places that were much better and much worse, though I think this one should have been better for its location. It’s quiet, peaceful and pleasant, near the town center, with a park nearby. Our room was large and clean, though the walls could use a refresh. The service was nice, but housekeeping fell short. We stayed seven nights and the floors were only cleaned once, after I asked. Breakfast was filling, but the same basic food was there every day: white bread and wraps, ham, cheese, vegetables, yogurt, fruit, waffles and other sweets, mostly ready-made products from Biedronka. Hot choices included sausages, hot dogs, pancakes, toast and żurek soup. There was plenty to eat, but after a few days I really wanted some variety, even in the bread. You won’t go hungry, but I wondered whether those breakfasts were worth paying for. The bar’s limited options gave you no choice but to take what was available. It’s not a disaster, but the breakfast could be better for the price. I half expected table football, a ping-pong table and a recreation room :-)

It’s a quiet place to relax, set away from the usual routes, and you may spot deer nearby. The price is reasonable, and the service is friendly and professional. The hotel is clean, and dinners are more than adequate. Breakfast could be better, though there’s enough to fill you up. The rooms need updating, so I don’t think it merits three stars, but I can recommend the rest and rate the hotel highly.

The grounds are a real plus, with lots of greenery, a large garden and plenty of parking. There’s also a tennis court, though it’s underwhelming, and a barbecue that was closed in July. The hotel itself disappointed us. At reception, we didn’t even get a hello, and the way we were looked up and down made us feel like intruders. The service was haphazard, and the “waiters” didn’t seem like waiters. Breakfast was okay, but lunch was tasteless and tiny. The spaghetti, for example, was pasta with jar sauce mixed with water, served cold and inedible. The tablecloths were dirty and rarely changed, so dinner was eaten “on crumbs from breakfast.” Our room was spacious and had a TV. The decor wasn’t great, though not awful either. There were no towels, and nobody cleaned the room during our seven-day stay. While we were in the sauna, someone also turned off the power, probably because of the notices in every room about saving water and energy. Don’t be fooled by the three-star rating, the place doesn’t meet that standard. We left disappointed.
