Hotel Ksiaz

The kids polished off their food, including the pancakes and dessert, which says a lot about how much they enjoyed it. We liked the dishes too: they were straightforward and honestly prepared, just as they should be. The restaurant is next to a castle, so I expected all sorts of things, but enjoying the meal wasn’t one of them. Pleasant surprise. The portions were right, prices were fine, and service was quick. I really don’t understand the negative reviews. We had a very good time and nothing to complain about.

The setting by the castle is just perfect, and the service was awesome. The food, though, was very average. It’s traditional Polish fare, about the quality of a medium-to-poor bar mleczny. We stopped in during our castle visit, so I can’t comment on the hotel. Still, I’d say give the restaurant a chance. Special thanks to the male waiter who looked after us, great service!!

We all enjoyed what we ordered, and would happily recommend the dishes. The coleslaw was some of the best we’ve had in Europe. I had panko-breaded chicken with fries, beet salad, coleslaw, and a garlic-sour cream dip. My husband chose goulash with potato pancakes and salads, and my child had crepes with jam, fruit, and whipped cream. I forgot to take photos until we’d already eaten everything. We came here after our underground tour. The service was friendly and quick. At the time of this review they accepted credit cards, which I appreciated, and the bathrooms were clean and free. This rating is for the restaurant only.

No complaints here. The Polish food was good, and so was the service.
