3V Apartments

Check-in was straightforward and quick, though a bit tedious because it involved several codes. The apartment itself was neglected and very dirty. The rooms were cold, the windows let in drafts, and the thin walls meant you could hear everything.

There’s a good restaurant and a Metro station around the corner, and overall I’m happy with the stay. It didn’t affect my business at all. Getting in was awkward: there are combination locks on the gate, building entrance, floor entrance, and room, and no elevator to the fourth floor. The room was cool in winter with just one radiator. I didn’t try adjusting it, so perhaps it could have been warmer. The owner was accommodating about an earlier check-in, moving it to 1 p.m., but after a 25-hour bus trip and arriving at the train station at 7 a.m., that still wasn’t ideal when regular check-in was at 3 p.m. Booking the previous night is the only other option, which might suit some people. The water pump hums whenever someone on the floor turns on a tap. I’m also not sure about the hot water. It felt quite hot on the first day, maybe 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit), enough to warm up in the shower, but on the second day it was no more than 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit).

The room is modern and nice, and the location is great, though it’s on the fifth floor with no elevator. But I couldn’t sleep with the hot-water boiler roaring just three metres away behind a drywall “wall” every time the neighbours turned on the water. Calling it noisy barely covers it. It sounds like a Soviet jet taking off.

Small rooms, but they’re modern and really cosy. The owner has equipped them thoughtfully, with dishes, frying pans, and cooking pots, plus a hairdryer, soap, shower gel, and toilet paper in the bathroom. There’s also a washing machine in the hallway. The location is excellent, just a 3-minute walk to Politechnika metro station and a short way from the tram. Entry throughout the property uses PIN locks, which made check-in and check-out easy. We’d definitely come back. 3V is well worth recommending.
